The Vilified, the Sanctified and the Cyborg

by Penny Papageorgopoulou

The triptych is created in order to represent the contradictions emerging from the occurring relations between humans and other species; some of them are vilified, some of them are sanctified. The image in the middle stands as a recreation of the cover of Donna Haraway’s Cyborg Manifesto, honouring her work and highlighting the role of the cyborg as the archetype of the future, transcendent of traditional human connections to technology and other species.
